Polar Class heavy transport Arctic module carriers Audax and Pugnax Red Box Energy Services 2014 - 2016

In June 2014 Red Box Energy Services awarded The Offshore Partners the contract to provide resources for the basic and detail design for the newbuilding Polar Class heavy transport arctic module carriers. From September 2014 The Offshore Partners installed a site team to continue the detail design together with the shipyard and started with the site supervision for all disciplines.

Noble Energy requested assistance from The Offshore Partners to supervise the construction, implementation and testing of the mission equipment by Emas onboard the new build pipelay and heavy lift construction vessel Lewek Constellation. The mono-hull vessel is fitted with a 3,000t mast crane and is fitted with a reel-lay system capable of installing pipelines down to 3000m water depth.

Flexlay / construction vessel Normand Vision Ocean Installer 2013 - 2014

Ocean Installer requested assistance from The Offshore Partners to perform site management at Huisman during the construction and testing phase of a vertical lay system (VLS). The construction phase at Huisman was followed by the installation, testing and commissioning of the VLS onboard NORMAND VISION at Vard Shipyard in Norway.  The mono-hull vessel is fitted with a 150t VLS including ancillary equipment, 3000t under-deck carousel, 100t and 400t knuckle boom cranes.

Pipelay / Heavy Lift vessel Lewek Constellation Huisman Equipment B.V. 2013

Huisman Equipment B.V. requested assistance from The Offshore Partners to supervise the design, engineering and construction of the mission equipment onboard the new build pipelay and heavy lift construction vessel Lewek Constellation. The mono-hull vessel is fitted with a 5,000t mast crane with deepwater lowering system down to 6,000m water depth and is fitted with S-lay and J-lay systems capable of installing pipelines down to 3000m water depth.

New Semi Submersible Crane Vessel NSCV Heerema Offshore Services BV 2012 - 2018

In 2012 Heerema Offshore Services B.V. requested The Offshore Partners to supply engineering management, design supervision, discipline engineering and site supervision for the concept development, the design and new building of the dynamically positioned 20,000t semi-submersible crane vessel. Project is subdivided in 3 sub-projects: Concept/basic design vessel, detail engineering/ construction/crane integration vessel, design and construction crane.  TOP provides services for each of the 3 sub-projects. The project is unique due to the 40% increase in lifting capacity compared to the present largest crane vessel and the largest application of LNG fuelled power generation in the marine industry.

New building of 550t & 300t PLSV Sapura Navegação Marítima 2012 - 2016

In 2012 TLO Offshore, a subsidiary of SapuraKencana awarded The Offshore Partners the contract to provide site office support and construction supervision of 5 newbuild Laying Support Vessels with a top tension capacity of 550t and one with 300t respectively. This new PLSV are built for the new started joint venture company Sapura Navegação Marítima owned by SapuraKencana and Seadrill. All vessels are equipped with a Vertical Lay System and two carousels with a capacity of 2,500 and 1,500t. The DP2 vessels can also support subsea installation by using their knuckle boom cranes with a lifting capacity of 250t and 30t, to a maximum depth of 2,500m. All vessels have been equipped with two WROV. The accommodation is designed to accommodate 120 persons. All six vessels, Sapura Diamante, Sapura Topazio, Sapura Onyx, Sapura Jade, Sapura Rubi and Sapura Esmeralda have long term contracts with Petrobras.

Design Pipelay / Heavy Lift Vessel Ulstein Sea of Solutions / Petrofac 2012 - 2013

Ulstein Sea of Solutions requested assistance from The Offshore  Partners to support the concept and basic design of the pipelay and lifting equipment, onboard the new construction vessel for Petrofac. The mono-hull vessel was to be fitted with a 5,500t tub crane, S-lay and J-lay systems capable of pipeline installation down to 3000m water depth. The under-deck pipe handling system was to be able to supply both pipelay systems consisting of single, double and quad joints.

Deepwater Construction Vessel BALDER Heerema Marine Contractors 2012

Due to the removed J-Lay tower onboard the DCV BALDER, Heerema Marine Contractors requested, another time, the engineering services from The Offshore Partners, for the preparation and execution of a Light Ship Weight survey as well as an inclining test. The tests have been successfully executed in good cooperation and within a strict time frame in sheltered waters in Stavanger, Norway.

Self propelled jack up vessels Seajacks Kraken & Seajacks Leviathan Seajacks 2011

Seajacks requested engineering services from The Offshore Partners, for the preparation and execution of a Light Ship Weight survey, onboard the self propelled jack up vessels SEAJACKS KRAKEN and SEAJACKS LEVIATHAN. Both tests were executed during vessel mobilization and required accurate planning and preparation.

Pipelay vessel CAESAR Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc. 2011

Helix Energy Solutions Inc. awarded a contract to The Offshore Partners, for the preparation and execution of a Light Ship Weight survey, onboard the Pipe Lay Vessel CEASAR. The Offshore Partners is familiar with the vessel because of the involvement in engineering and site supervision during the conversion of the CEASAR. The test has been executed in Mobile, USA during the mobilization of the vessel to the Gulf of Mexico.

Pipelay barge CASTORO 10 Saipem S.p.A. / ERS BV 2011

Saipem awarded The Offshore Partners with a contract to engineer and deliver a modular cooling water pump and drive system. The pump unit will be installed onboard the Pipelay barge CASTORO 10 for additional cooling capacity. The extra cooling capacity is required to operate in an estuary which contains sea water with high densities of mud and sand. The Offshore Partners  delivered the engineering documentation and pump units to Saipem on time for shipment and installation in Singapore onboard the CASTORO 10.

Inspection of Vessel and Lay System Murphy Oil Corporation 2011

The Offshore Partners was awarded a contract by Murphy Oil Corporation, to inspect the overall construction progress of the Construction Support Vessel NORTH OCEAN 105 and two vertical lay systems. One tower is under construction at Imeca and the other tower at IHC Engineering Business. Muprhy Oil Corporation requested TOP to investigate and inspect the construction status, progress and planning to ensure certain contractual chartering options of both vertical lay systems and the vessel.

New building Anchor Handling Tugs Heerema Marine Contractors 2010 - 2013

In September 2010 Heerema Marine Contractors requested project management assistance, for  investigating possibilities to replace the existing anchor handling tugs. Functional requirements have been written to enable pre-selected shipyards to provide a bid. After short listing and final selection of the shipyard and their design, assistance has been provided by acting as client representative during concept, basic and detailed engineering, and subsequently during construction. BYLGIA and KOLGA have been successfully delivered, adding value to the versatile fleet of Heerema Marine Contractors.

Heavy transport vessels FORTE & FINESSE Fairstar Heavy Transport NV 2010 - 2012

Fairstar Heavy Transport NV awarded Guangzhou Shipbuilding International the contract for the delivery of two open stern semi submersible vessels. The vessels, as part of a fleet expansion program, will enter service in 2012. The Offshore Partners provides site supervision services during construction.

Shallow water Pipelay Barge ACERGY ANTARES Acergy 2010 - 2011

Acergy awarded a contract to The Offshore Partners for the concept design, including required engineering, for the stinger hang-off frame of the shallow water pipelay barge Acergy Antares. The new build accommodation barge was converted at Sembawang Shipyard into a pipelay barge. The Offshore Partners delivered the stinger handling winches, sheaves and corresponding hydraulic power packs. In addition, supervision was provided for construction, testing and commissioning of the complete hydraulic system necessary for the pipe tensioning and handling equipment.

Lightweight drillship FUGRO SYNERGY Fugro Marine Services 2010

In March 2010 Fugro Marine Services requested The Offshore Partners to provide engineering, consultancy and supervision assistance, for the mobilization of the brand new lightweight drillship Fugro Synergy. The vessel was demobilized and mobilized, within two weeks after a few weeks of preparing all necessary job activities. The mobilization included the installation of several new operational systems, extended accommodation and the installation of a foundation for a two storey laboratory and several foundations for containers and working platforms.

Pipelay barge CASTORO 10 Saipem S.p.A. / ERS BV 2010

Mid April 2010 Saipem requested The Offshore Partners to execute measurements and a study, to determine the exact cause of the immoderate noise and vibrations originating from the new engine room. After providing the results and recommendations, Saipem requested TOP to execute the necessary conversion as per recommendations. Steel foundations were adjusted, generators sets were replaced, new exhaust silencers and louvers were installed as well as a considerable amount of insulation material both in the engine room and in the accommodation. All of this, resulted in a significant noise and vibration reduction, which was beyond expectations.

Oleg Strashnov Ship Security Plan Seaway Heavy Lifting Engineering 2010

Seaway Heavy Lifting Engineering B.V. awarded The Offshore Partners a contract to provide a ship security plan, which includes policies and procedures, in accordance with the ISPS Code for their new built heavy lift vessel Oleg Strashnov. The vessel, which is equipped with a 5,000t offshore lifting crane, has a unique innovative hull shape which combines a high transit speed and good stability during lifting operations.

Semi subm. pipelay vessel CASTORO SEI Saipem S.p.A. / ERS BV 2010

Due to local steel cracks in one of the main cranes, onboard the semi submersible pipelay vessel Castoro Sei, Saipem requested that The Offshore Partners propose a solution after inspection. As the vessel was in a pipelay operation, the repairs needed a quick response because of the strict operational time frame. Saipem also awarded The Offshore Partners the contract to act as sub contractor for the required steel work and welding repairs. After mobilization of welding, heating equipment and welders, the repairs were successfully completed without significant affecting the vessel operations.

Subsea 7 requested assistance from The Offshore Partners to support the design, engineering and construction of the pipelay equipment, onboard the new building Pipelay and Heavy Lift Construction vessel SEVEN BOREALIS. The mono-hull vessel, is capable of lifting 5,000t, or lift up to 6,000m of water depth and to install pipe both in S-lay and J-lay mode up to 3,000m water depth.

Taklift 4 Smit Internationale 2009 - 2010

The Smit Transport & Heavy Lift division serves the market among others with self propelled sheerlegs. These sheelegs are used for heavy lifts for the marine, oil & gas as well as the civil construction industry. A 20-year lifetime extension was carried out for the sheerleg TAKLIFT 4, including an upgrade of the maximum lifting capacity and the installation of diesel electric propulsion.

Field Development Ship SAIPEM FDS Saipem S.p.A. / ERS BV 2009

Equipment Rental Service BV, a subsidiary company of Saipem S.p.A., requested engineering services from The Offshore Partners, with the objective to investigate the feasibility of increasing the existing A&R system onboard the SAIPEM FDS. The investigation included the set up of a new A&R arrangement, as well as the structural integrity of the hull and new winch system foundations. In addition, the structural investigation, several installation scenarios were examined.

Boskalis Strait of Magellan project Boskalis Offshore BV 2009

For the installation of a natural gas pipeline across the Strait of Magellan in Southern Argentina, Boskalis Offshore requested The Offshore Partners to provide engineering services. Concept, basic and detail engineering services, were provided to convert and mobilize an existing barge into a dedicated pipe pull barge, with a maximum pulling capacity of 800 tons. TOP provided basic and detail drawings, as well as strength and hydrostatic calculations within the very short time window of four weeks. Installation of the pipeline was successfully delivered by Boskalis Offshore by the end of December 2009.

Heavy lift vessel SAIPEM 3000 Saipem S.p.A. / ERS BV 2009

The existing habitat dedicated to the heavy lift vessel Saipem 7000, is used for thruster repairs or a change out, without the need of dry docking. Saipem requested The Offshore Partners to design a ring adapter piece, in order to use the habitat also for another heavy lift vessel, the Saipem 3000. In addition to the basic and detail design, a lifting plan was arranged as well as an instruction manual, which describes the operational procedures for all operational sequences.

GSP BIGFOOT 1 S.C. Grup Servicii Petroliere S.A. 2008 - 2010

In September 2008 Grup Servicii Petroliere awarded The Offshore Partners the contract to provide the concept design for the conversion of the Bigfoot 1 barge, into a shallow water pipelay barge. Further to the complete pipelay installation equipment, including firing line and stinger, the barge was outfitted with a power generation and ballast system, 208 persons accommodation, two cranes, 8-point mooring system and helideck.

Derrick lay barge CASTORO II Saipem S.p.A. / ERS BV 2008 - 2009

Saipem decided to upgrade the complete mooring system, to increase pipelaying capabilities. In total 13 winches were replaced by 11 new winches, with a break load capacity of 200 ton each. Due to winch and fairlead size increase several smart engineering solutions were designed, in order to facilitate the new winches and fairleads in the existing rooms.

DP3 Multi Purpose Vessel GSP TITAN S.C. Grup Servicii Petroliere S.A. 2008 - 2009

In July 2008 Grup Servicii Petroliere signed a contract with Keppel Singmarine, for the delivery of a new building DP3 multi purpose vessel, which is capable to execute pipelaying, heavy lifting and tender drilling assisting activities. The vessel is equipped with a fully covered firing line, a mast crane with a lifting capacity of 1,800 ton and a deepwater knuckle boom crane of 120 ton.

Deepwater Construction Vessel BALDER Heerema Marine Contractors 2008

Heerema Marine Contractors requested engineering services from The Offshore Partners, for the preparation and execution of a Light Ship Weight survey as well as an inclining test onboard the Deepwater Construction Vessel BALDER. Due to the very limited timeframe available, Heerema Marine Contractors requested that the preparation and execution of the inclining test, had to take place on the open sea in the Gulf of Mexico. The objective was to gain time. In general, inclining tests are carried out in sheltered waters. The test and results were successfully carried out and delivered to Heerema Marine Contractors.

Deepwater Construction Vessel THIALF Heerema Marine Contractors 2008

Heerema Marine Contractors requested engineering services from The Offshore Partners, for the preparation and execution of a Light Ship Weight survey and an inclining experiment, onboard the Semi Submersible Construction Vessel THIALF. Preparations of the test were executed in West-Africa and Curacao. Taklift 6 Smit Internationale 2008

The Smit Transport & Heavy Lift division serves the market with amongst others, self propelled sheerlegs. The 5-year special survey for class of the sheerleg TAKLIFT 6 was carried out in Montenegro. In addition, the sheerleg underwent an extensive renovation program.

DSV WELL ENHANCER Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc. 2007 - 2009

Helix Energy Solutions Inc. ordered a Well Intervention / Diving Support Vessel at IHC Merwede shipyard in 2006. The DP-3 vessel was designed to support well intervention, including coil tubing, electric line and slick line intervention. A single bell 18-man saturated dive spread with hyperbaric life boat was installed to execute diving operations up to 300 meter water depth.

Heavy Lift Construction Vessel BOREALIS Dyvi AS 2007

Dyvi AS, as co-founder, lead investor and manager of Nordic Heavy Lift ASA, requested assistance from The Offshore Partners to review the design of the new building Heavy Lift Construction Vessel BOREALIS. The mono-hull DP-3 vessel is capable of lifting 5,000t for surface operations, while for deepwater installation work the vessel will be able to lower 1,000 tonnes to a water depth of 1,000 meter with a heave compensated system.

Pipelay vessel CAESAR Helix Energy Solutions Group Inc. 2006 - 2010

Helix Energy Solutions Inc. awarded Cosco Shipyard the contract to convert an existing cable lay vessel into a pipelay vessel. The dynamically positioned S-lay pipeline installation vessel is capable of installing various diameters of pipe in shallow and deepwater. In addition a 300t crane and 450t A-frame was installed to suit deepwater subsea installation activities.

Inspection of offshore vessels Murphy Oil Corporation 2006 - 2009

As a follow up to the risk assessments and evaluations executed for Murphy Oil Corporation in May 2005, the Kikeh Gas Pipeline Project management requested further support regarding review and assessment of the status at that moment of the new building pipelay and heavy lift vessel Sapura 3000. The Sapura 3000, operated by TL Offshore / Acergy, has been selected for the installation of the 120-kilometre Kikeh Gas Pipeline. Objective of this review was the prediction of the earliest possible starting date for the Kikeh project. The construction progress of several platform supply vessels, had to be reviewed with the objective to indicate the expected completion dates of each vessel, so Murphy Oil could verify whether the actual delivery dates matched the dates when the vessels were needed.

Heavy transport vessels FJORD & FJELL Fairstar Heavy Transport NV 2006 - 2008

Fairstar Heavy Transport NV purchased and took delivery of two modern state-of-the-art semi-submersible barges in August 2005. The barges were converted to self-propelled semi-submersible vessels at Malta Shipyards Ltd in Malta. The vessels trade in the world markets to transport large floating and non-floating cargoes mainly used in the offshore oil and gas industry.

SWEEP study Royal Dutch Shell and N.A.M. BV 2006 - 2008

The Offshore Partners in joint venture with Huisman-Itrec were requested by Shell and its subsidiary N.A.M., to carry out a study, with the objective to develop a low cost approach for marginal field development and installation. Numerous shallow water marginal fields have not been developed yet, as until now they have not been profitable, due to the combination of low oil prices and high investment costs. To enable a more efficient development of such fields, a low cost method to install small diameters pipeline in shallow water were developed, from the well head connection to the host facility.

Accommodation block PLV Audacia Hertel / Allseas 2006 - 2007

OACG, later on taken over by Hertel, was awarded an EPC contract from Allseas related to detailed design and fabrication of the 240 persons accommodation block, for the new-built DP3 pipelay vessel AUDACIA. Hertel awarded a management contract to The Offshore Partners to execute the contract. The Offshore Partners provided management and staff to perform the detailed design, subsequent 2,000t steelworks (Dordrecht PD) and management of the electrical (Alewijnse) and HVAC (Heijnen & Hopman) installation, piping and outfitting of galleys, cabins, offices and complete nautical bridge (Hertel). Initially, the accommodation was to be built as one block, but due to lifting restrictions, Allseas gave instructions to split the block into various sections and perform final hook-up of the sections at Keppel Verolme yard in Rotterdam.

HMNZS Canterbury Tenix Defence 2005 - 2006

Tenix requested assistance from The Offshore Partners, on their new building project for the Royal New Zealand Navy. The project took place at the IHC Merwede shipyard location in Hardinxveld Giessendam, The Netherlands. The Multi Role Vessel HMNZS CANTERBURY is capable of undertaking a number of roles including amphibious, helicopter, surface patrol, troops and equipment transport operations. The Offshore Partners provided support to the project management, various disciplines, as part of the site team at the shipyard.
