Description

As Project Manager Engineering you manage and control the whole engineering process for the construction of a new yacht from concept to warranty. You work in a matrix organisation and report to both to the shipyard’s Project Manager and head of engineering.

Your role is set in a multidisciplinary technical environment, therefore it is essential that you communicate efficiently within de project team, with the client( future vessel owner) and with  the shipyard.

Tasks and Responsibilities

As Project Manager Engineer you:

  • Initiate, guide and monitor the required engineering packet.  The engineering package shall be conform with:
    • The Client’s specification
    • The contract
    • Applicable legislation
    • Design requirements
    • Yard norms
  • Have ultimate responsibility for the engineering schedule and budget
  • Take all required actions to ensure quality and schedule are met.
  • Are the main contact point regarding all engineering aspects for both the Client and for all internal departments / reporting lines
  • Coordinate the flow of information between the different departments and with the Client
  • Identify and mitigate risk
  • Identify and change orders and quantify their impact

Profile

You should have the following Profile:

  • Graduated in Mechanical or Maritime Engineering or similar (Master);
  • Min. 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager Engineer in Yacht Building or equal level expertise;
  • Good working knowledge of the English language;
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations such as Lloyds and CISR
  • Knowledge of 2D/ 3D package, PLM / ERP software and office packages
